The Duck House on Mirror Lake, Hubbard Park, Meriden CT:
Mirror Lake, Hubbard Park, with it fountains and surrounding gardens was constructed when the Park was established in 1900. Nestled between South Mountain and East Peak, Mirror Lake is considered one of the most scenic vistas at the park.
Mirror Lake is one of 15 lakes in Connecticut which are designated as Community Fishing Waters. These waters are stocked with trout in the early spring and channel catfish in late spring/early summer to provide a year-round fishery. The Community Fishing Waters Program (formerly Urban Fishing) was established to promote natural resources and outdoor recreation opportunities within urban neighborhoods. All these waters are located along or close to public transportation routes to enhance fishing opportunities in urban neighborhoods.
