NY- CP- The Mall at Central Park

The Mall at Central Park
Walking South from the Bethesda Fountain towards The Mall at Central Park, NYC, NY 🇺🇸. The Central Park Mall leads from 59th Street to Bethesda Fountain and is the only purely formal feature in the naturalistic original plan of Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux for Central Park. The Mall is still known as a gathering place, occupied by skateboarders, rollerbladers, and street performers. While strolling along the path, visitors will notice a large number of American elm trees. Popular at the time of their planting, these trees are rather uncommon today, and the Central Park Mall boasts one of the largest plantations of the American elm.
