​Saint Francis Xavier Church, Philadelphia:
Saint Francis Xavier Church, located on the Art Museum’s doorstep at 24th & Green Streets was founded in 1839. The front of the church was actually destroyed by a fire in the early 1900s, but was rebuilt. The new Saint Francis Xavier Church was only the seventh Catholic Church to exist within the city. Famous persons such as Edgar Allen Poe, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain are known to have toured and marveled at it.
