Fishing Village at Las Cuevas Bay, North Coast, Trinidad:
Las Cuevas Bay, 10 minutes east of Maracas, is currently the only Blue Flag Certified beach in the Southern English-speaking Caribbean. The name is derived from the Spanish word for caves, many of which are located to the SW of the bay. It is the longest (22km) strip of sand and the second most popular beach on the North Coast. Shaped like a crescent, its calm, clear waters have a green hue and soft tan colored sand. Fishermen moor their boats on the eastern side of the bay and usually have fresh fish for sale daily.
